The journalism fraternity was Thursday morning thrust into mourning after the death of K24 journalist Daniel Chemjor, who lost his life following a road crash in Baringo County Wednesday night.
Among those in deep mourning is K24 news presenter Betty Kyallo, who on Thursday took to social media to relay her shock at the demise of the journalist, who at the time of his death, was a News Director at Mediamax Network Limited.
According to Betty, her relationship with Chemjor did not begin when she joined the station from Standard Media Group in 2018.
In a Twitter post, Betty recounted her initial days as a young journalist working as an intern under the deceased.
According to the weekend news presenter, Chemjor was a highly dedicated professional who always delivered impeccably on his mandate.
Betty further narrated how Chemjor was part of the support structure that helped her grow into the renowned newswoman she now is.
“Thank you for believing in me since I was an intern in 2010,” Betty emotionally said.
She further revealed that her relationship with Chemjor was more than just a work affair.
“I’ve lost a friend,” Betty lamented, wrapping her tribute up by describing her colleague as an amazing professional.
Chemjor died after the car he was driving veered off the road at the Kerio Valley bridge before plunging into a deep gorge.
His ill-fated car was retrieved by divers several hours after the accident.
