‘You Are Next’-Kiambu MCAs tell Waititu After Impeaching His CEC

Embattled Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waitiu is on the line for impeachment, say Kiambu MCAs.

Speaking on Wednesday, after ousting his County Executive (CEC) for Sports Karungo Thangwa, the MCAs told Waititu to prepare himself for his looming impeachment.

“Everybody who has been used by Waititu to embezzle Kiambu County funds will be sent packing. Waititu should know that he is next.

We have impeached his corrupt CEC and we told him we are almost impeaching him and time is now because this county must stand on integrity,” said one of the MCAs.

The impeached sports CEC faced corruption allegations and the committee investigating him found him guilty of the malpractice.

The Kiambu governor has been missing in action at the county following a court order that barred him from accessing his office after he was arrested over corruption allegations.

The governor is free on bail.

Waititu in all appearance has been struggling to regain his political relevance after reports indicate that President Uhuru Kenyatta had avoided him in several meetings.

In the recent incident, Waititu was reportedly blocked by security officers from accessing Sagana State Lodge on grounds that he was a persona non-grata.

The beleaguered governor, however, eventually managed to access the meeting.

During the Mashujaa day celebrations, the county boss was reportedly barred from sitting in the VIP dais.

In a video footage making rounds on social media, the governor was seen being confronted by a security officer while sitting in the VIP lounge.

The governor engaged the security officers for a short while and was seen living the seat.

The recent developments seemingly made the governor change his political allegiance.

On Sunday Waititu, despite being a fierce critic of the Building Bridges Initiative, pulled his weight behind the course and expressed optimism that it lead Kenya to a better course.
