Villagers of Kapchogir area in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, are reeling in shock after an alleged love triangle turned tragic, following the murder of a villager by her neighbour.
According to area residents, the suspected killer had, in the past, warned the deceased several times against her alleged affair with the former’s husband.
The two women had lived in the area for about three years.

Family members said they had tried intervening in the matter but their efforts turned futile.
The situation escalated when the aggrieved neighbour teamed up with her friend to launch an attack on the dead woman, whose screams for help did not yield a timely response.
According to first-responders, the victim was already profusely bleeding by the time she was being rushed to the hospital, and she succumbed shortly afterwards.
Eyewitnesses say the two attackers were in a drunken stupor at the time of the incident.

“Chanzo cha hayo maneno yote ni pombe. Mwenye alimuua marehemu alikuwa amelewa. Mwenye alishika marehemu pia alikuwa amelewa (both attackers were drunk at the time),” Grace Kutwa, an area resident, said, adding that the suspects, who are already in custody, are as young as 24 years old.
According to the victim’s husband, they had been married for ten years, with five children.
