Man United Courting Championship Striker

Man United’s hunt for a new striker has now taken to them to the English Championship where they are reportedly trailing young Reading forward, Danny Loader.

The 20-year old is out of contract in the summer and United are looking to beat competition from a host of Premier League teams to acquire his services as they look to boost their attack in January or in the summer.

Danny Loader has caught the eye for Reading this season

Loader was expected to join Wolves on summer deadline day but the move fell through after the two clubs failed to strike a deal and the forward had to remain with the Championship outfit for at least the first leg of the 2019/20 season.

“Everyone knows a Premier League club tried to sign me in the transfer window, but it wasn’t to be. I’m very ambitious, my dream is to play on the biggest stage and you never know when these opportunities will come around again,” the forward said after the deal to Wolves hit a wall.

The attacker’s contract expires at the end of the season and talks over a new deal have stalled with a number of clubs keen on acquiring his services on the Bosman. Wolves, United, West Ham, and Crystal Palace are teams said to be interested in his services.

The striker made his Reading debut as a 16-year old under Manchester United legend Jaap Stam who was the team head coach then. It is said that the Dutch legend has recommended the young attacker to Man United coaching staff.
