Blow For Man United, Arsenal as Agent Rules Out Midfielder’s January Exit

Manchester United and Arsenal pursuit of Switzerland and Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria has been dealt a major blow after his agent confirmed that he will not be leaving the Bundesliga leaders in January.

The 22-year old has been in good form for the German giants this season attracting interest across Europe with Arsenal keen on his services as a replacement for their former captain Granit Xhaka who could be heading out of the club after a fallout with the fans.

United, on the other hand, want to replace wantaway Nemanja Matic with the Swiss who is of South Sudanese descent. Matic is angling for a January move to either AC Milan, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund or Juventus. All four clubs are reportedly interested in the left-footed midfield enforcer.

Arsenal and the Red Devils will, however, have to look elsewhere if they have to beef their midfield in January. According to his agent, Mathieu Beda the player will not be keen on leaving during the winter window as he wants to continue with his fine form at Gladbach and even improve further.

“Denis will not leave Borussia in the winter, a change is 100 percent excluded. Denis is in very good shape in Gladbach and has been playing really well for weeks, but he still has more potential and he wants to show that in Gladbach now instead of dealing with a change,” he said.
