Standard Eight candidates who completed their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams in the month of October are expected to know their results on Monday.
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magohga is expected to announce the results for the more than 1 million candidates on Monday, November 18, 2019, just two days after the marking exercise ended.
Intimate sources from the Kenya National Examination Council (Knec) hinted that processing of the results for the 1,088,986 candidates was completed over the weekend, and is expected to be released in the course of the day.
It is reported that Knec officials were holed up in a daylong meeting to plan on the release of the results after which invitation messages were sent on Sunday evening.
The stakeholders were directed to be at the Knec offices by 9 am.
And as per 10 am on Monday, education stakeholders had already started thronging Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) headquarters along Dennis Pritt Road, Nairobi ready for the release.

Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha is currently briefing President Uhuru Kenyatta before he officially releases the results.
The 7,000 examiners who took part in marking Kiswahili Insha and English Composition had by Friday last week, exited the various marking centers in Nairobi after submitting the results to the exams body.
“We can confirm that the marking is now complete. Processing and polishing have also been done. It now depends on ministry officials and Knec to decide the next stages,” stated a senior examiner as quoted by a local newspaper.
The marking was done in record time since the KCPE papers were marked using the Optical Mark Recognition System, whose process includes capturing marked data from candidates’ answer sheets using specialised scanning.
For the past three years, the ministry has been releasing the results earlier than expected as one way of ensuring that results ‘doctoring’ and altering practices are avoided.
Last year’s results were released on November 19 and it’s unlikely this year’s date could go beyond Monday 18.
