Sonko Forced To Intervene in Kirima Land Tussle After Investor Forcibly Evicted Tenants

Members of the family of the late Gerishon Kirima woke up to a rather disturbing news on the weekend upon being informed that an auctioneer arrived with the aim of executing an eviction order issued against the family property land on Saturday the 16th of November 2019.

The said order led to a bitter tussle between the Kirima’s, the auctioneer and police over frustrations and evident anger.

Gerishon Kirima died on 28 December 2010 while undergoing treatment in South Africa. He served as the Starehe constituency Member of Parliament from 1989 to 1992 General Elections when he lost the seat to his predecessor Kiruhi Kimondo.

Kirima relatives say there exists a High court order restraining anyone from evicting the tenants and occupants on the said piece of land thus questioning the validity of the order.

The land tussle has been ongoing in court where the family is decrying injustice aimed at pushing them to give up in that the land ownership keeps changing hands, hence the plaintiff never appears in court.

Value of the half acre land situated near City Park is said to be worth 100 million,

The auctioneer claimed he is acting on behalf of his client Peter Arina, however Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has intervened defending Kirima widow and ensured the plot has been securely reverted to the late Kirima family.
