Babu Owino: I Was Almost Killed On Saturday

Controversial Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has called upon the Inspector General of Police to investigate individuals who are out to kill him.

The legislator, in a Sunday statement, revealed that he had, over the past few months, been receiving threats against his life over his political stance.

In recent weeks, however, the threats and insults towards the MP increased worryingly, culminating into him being an active target.

“I can report that I am a targeted man. I have been consistently followed during the day and at night by a saloon vehicle that I now know, with four occupants. Yesterday, these men made an attempt on my life,” an irate Owino said.

Maintaining his defiance despite the looming danger, the provocative MP vowed to continue speaking out on behalf of oppressed Kenyans, until death comes his way.

“I have done my duty to the people fearlessly and will continue to do so until the Lord calls me home,” he wrote.

In the statement, Owino claimed that highly placed politicians are the ones behind the attempt on his life, saying that he had already reported the matter at Parliament Police Station.

“I will not stop. I shall not stop. Death comes to us all and I know mine will eventually come. I am not afraid of dying for my beliefs and in service to my people. Tialala!” An unmoved Owino concluded.
