Why Uhuru is Satisfied With Ruto’s Kibra Defeat-Itumbi

President Uhuru Kenyatta is satisfied with Jubilee ‘s loss in Kibra by-election, claimed Statehouse blogger Dennis Itumbi on Friday.

According to Itumbi, the president, who met a host of Mt Kenya leaders at Sagana state lodge in Meru County, said though the ODM party won the Kibra by-election, the Jubilee party were also victorious for being able to campaign in the constituency.

“We had a candidate in Kibra. And though our candidate did not win, we won by being able to campaign…” said the President as quoted by Itumbi.

Also, according to Pauline Njoroge, a digital media strategist who claimed to have been part of the Sagana meeting, the president lauded the fact that various communities were able to hold peaceful campaigns in the area..

Njoroge also claimed that President Uhuru credited the Handshake deal between him the ODM leader Raila Odinga for such developments and said the pact was not about future positions but about uniting Kenyans.

“He has further said that such progress is the true meaning of the handshake, where all communities can live together despite political differences, and be able to work together.

“The president has re-emphasized that the handshake is not about future political positions, but about uniting Kenyans,” wrote Njoroge on her Facebook account.

However, Njoroge claimed that Uhuru also castigated political leaders insulting each other over the campaigns and urged Mt Kenya leaders to practise political hygiene.

Also, Njoroge said that the president will meet elected leaders from the region in future to address the issue development that the leaders were lamenting over.
