ODM leader Raila Odinga’s aide has sensationally outlined how Jubilee Party allegedly planned to rig the vote in the concluded Kibra by-elections.
In a tweet widely seen to be a rejoinder to Deputy President William Ruto’s Twitter tirade, Mr Dennis Onyango stated that Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga had planned to stuff ballot boxes and manipulate electronic voting.
During the November 7 polls, widespread failure of the KIEMS kits necessitated the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to resort to manual voting.
According to Odings’s Director of Communications Mr Onyango, Mariga’s handlers had stuffed ballot boxes already marked for delivery at the various polling stations in Kibra.
Onyango claimed the Jubilee team had become bitter after Kibra residents repulsed any attempts to access the polling stations with the allegedly marked ballots.
The former Nation Media Group Journalist-turned aide also remarked that some 50,000 people had biometrically voted to hand Mariga a total of 61,000 votes against ODM candidate Benard Imran.
When you have 50,000 people vote biometrically, stuff boxes for delivery to target Kibra polling stations only for voting to go manual and constituency to be locked down, you get angry and tweet from Thursday to Thursday as what was to give you 61,000 votes yields only 11,000.

In the poll results announced on November 7, Okoth was declared the winner of with a total of 24,636 votes against Mariga’s 11,230.
While Mariga called Imran to concede, DP Ruto has put up a spirited tweef with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to make him renounce violence witnessed during the polls.
Ruto challenged Raila to make a public apology after Jubilee party legislators were caught on tape being harassed by suspected goons in the company of ODM members of Parliament.
While ODM responded by saying DP Ruto was yet to get over the poll results, a section of Jubilee MPs allied to DP Ruto have come to claim Mr Odinga secretly met Interior Cabinet Secretary and Principal Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i and Dr Karanja Kibicho respectively at a Karen hotel.
In the meeting, the MPs alleged, ODM MPs were assured of police protection during the entire poll process.
