In the past couple of weeks, the Sports permanent Secretary Peter Kaberia has been at loggerheads with the Football Kenya Federation Chairman Nick Mwendwa. The PS is accusing Mwendwa of the wrong use of funds allocated to the federation for the national teams while Mwendwa in return is accusing Kaberia of deliberately delaying the funds.
On Wednesday, it emerged that the National football team Harambee Stars was stranded in Egypt ahead of their first Africa Cup Of Nations qualifier against the Pharaohs. The team was at risk of being thrown out of their hotel in Cairo after failing to pay for their accommodation on time.
According to Nick Mwendwa, the solution to the matter was only found following the intervention of the Egypt Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhy.
However, on Thursday Kenyan Javelin legend Julius Yego dropped a bombshell on Social media claiming that the only reason Stars were Stranded was because the Football Federation Of Kenya failed to submit the hotel information and invoice.
Just spoke with the sports PS Amb Kaberia and he said all players have been paid and itβs only accommodation since the Football Federation fall to submit the hotel information and invoice, a move that raised eyebrows considering that their boss wanted to be given liquid cash!

Nick Mwendwa was quick to issue a reply terming Kaberia as a liar!
Julius. He has lied to you. We send an invoice in monday, we paid USD 4k just to make sure that we were booked in. He has also not told you that he has not paid the local accomodation too. Tell him again, since he may listen to you. That we need to money to us. Alipe tu.
