The officers were caught on camera assaulting a student during Monday’s demonstration by students of the Juja-based institution of higher learning.

While addressing the press on Wednesday, National Police Service Commission Chairman Eliud Kinuthia communicated that they were yet to identify the fourth officer.

“The identification of the 4th police officer is delaying because, it’s a process, and the angle of the image on what is happening needs assurance and should be right,” stated Kinuthia.

According to the NPSC reports, the three identified officers have since been interdicted to give room for more investigations before further disciplinary action is taken against them.

The NPSC boss, however, did not reveal how long the investigations will take.

“We do not know how long the investigations will take but we hope it will take the shortest time possible,” stated the NPSC boss.

Kinuthui also remarked that the conditions of the students who were injured during the protests are not clear but he insisted that they were receiving treatment at different hospitals in the city.

The revelations come amid an earlier report by the police spokesman Charles Owino who had on Wednesday morning maintained that the police body would not release the names of the officers.

Speaking at a local TV station, Owino stated that despite interdicting the officers, they were not ready to release the names owing to their previous service for the country.

He had insisted that they would keep their identity private until the investigations are complete.
