Salah last featured for the Pharaohs at the 2019 African Cup of Nations that was staged in Egypt in June. The record AFCON champions suffered a shocking round of 16 exit when they lost to South Africa after conceding a late goal.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had earlier expressed his concern with the forward’s injury.
“I think it is more really annoying – for him, not me – the fact that it always has a bit of fluid in, and he has to deal with it, we get it out and it comes back, and stuff like that,” he said.
The attacker is likely to miss the Reds’ next upcoming assignments.
