Well, Nairobi County Assembly is no longer new to drama.
From the first attempt to eject Speaker Beatrice Elachi from office to the Monday incident where a section of MCAs tried to oust Majority Leader Abdi Guyo, the City Assembly is seemingly a battlefront of its own inhabitants.
But as new battles pick up season to season at City Assembly, one lady, a nominated MCA Mary Njambi, always stand out at the centre of such controversies.
On Monday, during an attempt to oust the Majority leader, Njambi was captured in video footage complaining about MCAs carrying guns to city hall.
Many media houses ran for her interview and as usual, she could not disappoint with her usual drama coupled with some touch of comedy.
“Hapa Watu watakufa. Tangu rini, tangu rini MCA ako na bunduki more than two. Nikama reo mabunduki ndo silikua zinafanya kazi pu!pu! pu!(Today here people will die. Since when an MCA has more than two guns. Today its those guns that were being used).
“Si watu watakufa? Kama mimi sina mabunduki kwa hivyo DCIO akuje anyang’anye maMCA mabunduki ( Will people not die? Like me I dont have a gun therefore DCI should come and snatch the MCAs those guns,” said Njambi.
“…..mabinduki ndio zilikua zinafanya kazi, pupupuuu….” Mafirifiri at it again! Video Courtesy pic.twitter.com/g66ZlPdihb

But this is not the first time Njambi has brought out drama out of chaos.
Do you remember when Elachi was being forcefully evicted from office in September 2018?
Mary Njambi was at the forefront leading a host of MCAs in forcing the City Speaker to vacate office.
In video footage making rounds on social media then, Njambi was captured shouting and crying loudly in office as she pushed police officers in her bid to access Elachi’s officers.
And as push and pull continued, all of sudden, Njambi was captured crying after pepper canister was reportedly lobbed at her.
“How can you be a speaker, na unawekea MCA wako mafirifiri kwa macho… Si hiyo ni kirimino? (How can you be a speaker and spray pepper in your MCA’s eyes. Isn’t that criminal?” said Njambi in the Video.
In all appearances, that marked the beginning of the slang kirimino, meaning criminal.
