The mockery is far from over for former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, who on Nov. 7 broke the Internet, after he was photographed carrying stones behind his back, in an altercation during the Kibra MP by-election.
Earlier during the day, Khalwale had played the victim after almost being lynched by a charged crowd.
However, the photos of a defiant Khalwale collecting stones, and hiding them behind his back, ready to reiterate went viral, suggesting that the controversial politician might have triggered the violence meted towards him during the mini-poll.
Shortly after, Kenyans on Twitter launched the Boni Khalwale Challenge, where netizens attempted to imitate the Deputy President William Ruto die-hard in all manner of hilarious ways, including substituting Khalwale’s stones with KDF cakes.

Just when the challenge had died down, and the Nation had moved on to other matters, Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo and Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi revived the ridicule on Khalwale on a Tuesday morning TV show, where the two, alongside Khalwale, served as panellists, in a discussion on the state of the country’s political affairs.
Using actual stones availed by NTV’s AM Live show, Wamatangi started off the dramatic reenactment of Khalwale’s slightly bent pose, with fists full of stones.
He, however, was no match for Amollo, who hails from the Luo community, stereo-typically known for their prowess in launching stone-throwing assaults.
Taking to the stage, Amollo explained that there must be a minimum of three stones for one to excel in the art of stone throwing, adding that one must maintain a stone face (pun intended).
Interestingly, Khalwale was away from his seat during the mockery.
He had earlier on defended his actions by referring to his culture which, according to his understanding, does not allow a man to stand by and be attacked by “uncircumcised boys,” drawing renewed criticism from offended ODM supporters.
โIt is unfortunate that Dr. Khalwale referred to Kibra youth as uncircumcised boys. I am a medical doctor. He too is a medical doctor and we both know that majority of men across the world are uncircumcised…. https://t.co/LYW9yXgM9T

Here are some reactions from Kenyans towards the theatrics:
A section of the audience, however, was not too amused:
