Raila’s Spokesperson Mocks Ruto Over Apology Demands

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga’s spokesman Dennis Onyango has told off Deputy Presiden William Ruto over his remarks that ODM party leader Raila Odinga should apologise over chaos recently witnessed in Kibra.

In his tweet on Saturday, Ruto had asked Raila Odinga to apologise unconditionally over chaos witnessed during Kibra constituency by-election.

The DP also demanded that Raila should publicly renounce his culture of violence and gangsterism which he said acted to threaten democracy and peace that exists in the country.

“As Kenyans we demand that Tinga/his party unconditionally, unequivocally and publicly RENOUNCE the culture of violence, chaos, terror, and gangsterism their signature modus operandi as witnessed in Kibra & unreservedly apologise to victims past and present for their hurt and loss,” posted Ruto on his twitter account.

Ruto added that ODM’s major strategy in winning the Kibra constituency parliamentary seat was through outlawed means and not democracy which involved violence, chaos, mayhem, and terror.

But in a quick rejoinder, Onyango refuted Ruto’s demands while accusing him of suffering from hangovers following Jubilee’s defeat in the Kibra polls.

Onyango maintained that ODM party had moved forward away from the mini-poll and was leaving blame games to the losers (William Ruto’s camp)

“After the resounding victory in the Thursday Kibra elections, ODM and its leadership are moving forward to other important battles for the good of Kenya. We leave it to losers like Ruto’s Jubilee wing to curse, analyse and cry over Kibra. We have vacated that past to losers,” stated Onyango on Twitter

The unfoldings come at a time when youths and bodaboda riders from Kimilili in Bungoma have strongly condemned attacks on their MP Didimus Barasa and former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale.

While asking Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati to apologise over the chaos on Thursday, the youths led by Wanjala Sakwa decried the attacks terming it as uncouth, unwarranted and undemocratic.
