Arsenal Legend Asks Club to Sack Coach

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has called on the club hierarchy to sack coach Unai Emery following Saturday evening 2-0 loss to Leicester City at King Power.

Second-half goals from Jamie Vardy and James Maddison helped the hosts move to second in the English Premier League log and piled more pressure on the already under-fire Unai Emery.

There have been calls for the club to fire the Spanish coach after a spate of poor results with compatriot Luis Enrique backed to replace him. Jose Mourinho and Mikel Arteta are other coaches who have been linked with the job.

Following Saturday’s defeat to the in-form Foxes, Wright who’s currently a TV pundit took to social media to demand that the club makes a thoughtful decision which simply implies a change in the coaching staff.

The former striker pointed out at the fact that the team had managed only two wins in ten league matches, poor style of play, negative goal-difference and the risk of losing two key strikers: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as enough reasons for dismissing the former PSG coach.

“1 shot on target tonight!! 2 wins in 10 in the league. No definitive style or plan. Negative goal difference. No improvement in the defense. Not creating anything. Why would Laca or Auba renew? Can’t blame them! We have to make the tough decision Arsenal! It’s not getting better, ” he tweeted.

In Europe, however, the team has been performing well on the Europa League and has already sealed a round of 32 spot with two games to spare.
