Miguna Mocks Raila Odinga After High Court Acquited Kajwang

Miguna Miguna, a former advisor to Raila Odinga, on Wednesday, mocked the former prime minister after High Court acquitted Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang of treason charges.

With an intent to ridicule he questioned Odinga on why he was left out and not given a chance to deal with treason charges levelled against him.

“How about me, the People’s Con-Man?[sic]” He directed the question to Odinga, “why hasn’t my valid Kenyan passport been returned by your fake brother Despot Muigai Njee Meta Meta/Kenyatta?”

Kajwang’, a confidant of ODM leader Raila Odinga, was first arrested together with Miguna in 2018 for administering the presidential oath at Uhuru Park.

Mr Odinga had disputed 2017 presidential results, a move that made his party to organise a mock swearing-in ceremony which saw thousands attend.

However, Odinga would later reconcile with President Uhuru Kenyatta in March, two months later, a move that caught their lieutenants by surprise.

Many including Miguna were not happy about this decision which saw him forcefully deported from the country twice in 2018.

On Wednesday, November 6, 2019, Kajwang’s two-year battle to clear his name following the state’s decision to pursue the charges that would have ended his career, ended after the high court acquitted him.

A statement from Orange Democratic Party said that the case was politically instigated.
