Mbappe Will Join Real Madrid, Ex Monaco Chief Confirms

Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev has revealed that Kylian Mbappe’s dream is to play for Spanish Champions Real Madrid in the future.

The 20-year old World Cup winner moved to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 from Monaco after starring for his boyhood club for two seasons. He had been linked with a host of other European clubs before his move to the French capital.

Last summer, he was rumored to be heading to Real Madrid as coach Zinedine Zidane looked to beef up his team ahead of the 2019/20 campaign. The move, however, failed to materialize and the forward, who is viewed as Karim Benzema’s long-term replacement remained in Paris.

Rumors have once again resurfaced indicating that the speedster could move to Real Madrid and coach Zinedine Zidane hinted that the club could sign him in future.

“At the moment he plays for Paris Saint-Germain, we’ll see in the future if that changes. I know he always said his dream is to play for Real Madrid,” Zidane said.

And now former Monaco Chief Vadim has fueled these claims stating that the record European champions are Mbappe’s dream club. He went on to reveal that the player turned down a move to Madrid in 2017 as he wanted to play a little longer in France.

“Kylian told me: ‘Vadim, I feel it deep inside me, it is too early [to leave France]. I have only played in my country for one year. I am Parisian and I do not want to leave my country this way. I want to be a great player here, Real can wait,” he said.

“It is coming [a move to Real Madrid], but he told me that was his feeling and he was right. I told him: They will come knocking and the entire Santiago Bernabeu will applaud when you arrive. You do not need confirmation to know that,”.
