Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has expressed his delight in security agencies, for nabbing 11 individuals impersonating KCSE candidates in Kisii County.

The gang was arrested at Ramasha Academy, Kiogoro Division, Nyaribari Chache constituency.

Several others are believed to have escaped during the Tuesday morning raid, including the school Head.

The owner of the private institution and the Deputy Principal were, however, apprehended.

Other than engaging in exam malpractices, the school was also found to be in an non-conducive state, lacking laboratories that are crucial for the administration of practical scientific tests.

Magoha warned that the government was hot on the heels of other fake candidates across Nyanza region Counties which, he noted, are notorious for examination malpractices.

Some of the other Counties flagged include Migori and Homabay.

The CS further revealed that an undisclosed school in Thika is under State scrutiny for a strange candidate register, that indicates all students are from one religion.

The tough-talking academic went ahead to caution parents across the country against purchasing examination papers from unethical education officers and to instead, nurture the talents of their children.

Other than Ramasha Academy, Magoha also paid a visit to Kisii National School shortly after officiating the opening of an exam container in Kisii Town.
