The ODM party affiliated politician, pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against her including one where it was stated she had planned to commit the offence.

The court however decided to take further action on the suspects who did not appear during the hearing by issuing a warrant of arrest.

Among those expected to be apprehended include Malaysia based diplomat Ruth Kitonyi.

Ongoro remarked that the claims against her was a political strategy by her enemies.

“My take is, this is a political battle which is mine to fight,” stated the former MP.

In her defence, the politician declared that the project was initiated as planned at the time, and was even done in the presence of ODM leader Raila Odinga, who was the Prime Minister during her tenure.

She further asserted that the project faced numerous challenges forcing her to abandon it.

“Everything went well till we reached ground level. We faced running battles during the construction of the school.

“We would erect the structure during the day, then at night we would be faced with issues,” remarked Ongoro.

The tough talking former lawmaker, affirmed that she directed her efforts to the building and completion of a girls high school in Kariobangi.

For Kenga, this was not the first time in the docks, as he was once arrested and charged with making away with Ksh 1.9 million from a CDF budget, in 2011.

Reports indicated that he committed the offence at Cooperative Bank University Way branch in February that year.
