Boniface Mwangi’s Exposé That Could Cost Mariga Win

Activist Boniface Mwangi launched a new attack on Jubilee Kibra candidate Macdonald Mariga with days to the by-election.

Mariga, who seemed to be off the hook for a while, found himself staring at a move by his rivals that could cost him victory on November 7.

In a video shared by KTN journalist Tony Gachoka, who is an anti-Mariga supporter, Mwangi is seen interviewing a group of individuals from Mariga’s hometown identified as Landmawe.

The activist ridiculed the former Harambee Stars captain’s decision to vie for a seat without having made any developments in the area.

According to the tough talking political crusader, who also doubles up as a photographer, claimed that the ruling party’s candidate only visited the place for selfish reasons.

The last time Mariga alikuja hapa, alikuja kufanya advert ya Betin. Hakuwa anakuja kuleta mkokoteni kwa hawa watu wanafanya garbage collection ama maendeleo yoyote.(The last time Mariga was here, was during a Betin advert. He neither did not come to provide new handcarts for people carrying out garbage collection nor make any improvements in the area.)” narrated the activist.

The once Starehe constituency aspirant during the 2017 general elections further commented that Kibra belonged to the people and not an individual.

The controversial Mwangi two weeks ago, termed Mariga’s bid at the seat left vacant by the late Ken Okoth, a joke.

He noted that the only reason why Jubilee prefered him as the best choice was due to his ethnicity.

“Our government is playing a very bad game. The reason why Jubilee chose Mariga is because he’s Luhya and an ex-footballer,” remarked the crusader.

The photojournalist claimed that popularity is all the former Inter midfielder had and could not steer Kibra forward.

“They are going for popularity, yet he lacks the substance and depth to be a member of Parliament. He lied about his age among other things,” Mwangi expressed.

This new development is insinuated to affect Mariga’s chances of clinching the seat.

The brother to Tottenham star Victor Wanyama faced backlash during the gruelling campaign period, and seemed to respond positively with every punch thrown to him by the likes of those in support of ODM Kibra candidate Imran Okoth.

On whether the new tactics deployed will work against him, the results of the contest will tell if his downfall will happen as predicted by many or if he will triumph against expectations.
