In the quest for achieving smooth antiaging skin, people have become so quick to experiment on their skin by using different products.

Although some have been lucky to figure out what product works best for them, there is a great risk since some of the products have adverse side effects.

Is semen good for your skin?

Over the years, there is a common belief that semen is good for the skin and not only does it reduce wrinkles but it also gives the skin a glow.

A popular celeb beautician boldly defended this theory stating that using your partner’s sperm as a mask can help reduce wrinkles, smooth the skin, prevent acne or spots and give you overall healthy-looking skin.

Semen contains zinc, magnesium, calcium, potassium, and fructose. It also contains spermine which acts as an antioxidant therefore considered as the main element that is beneficial for the skin.

It is not scientifically proven

Despite the fact that that semen is made of healthy minerals, there is no scientifically proven report that backs up this theory of semen’s benefits on the skin.

Dr. Anthony Youn also agrees that the reality is far from the belief of semen’s benefits.

“People say because it contains antiacids, it is good for the skin. I mean, virtually but we have not tested how much antiacids are in there.

Other people say that it contains protein. Meat contains a lot of protein as well and we do not necessarily apply meat on our skin do we? ” he stated

According to Dr. Kirby apart from having no proof that semen has any dermatological benefits, applying semen to the face could be dangerous.

Some people could have an allergic reaction if sperm is applied on the face. In the worst scenario, you could get chlamydia of the eye by using STI infected semen as a face mask.
