With only four days remaining to Kibra by-elections, Deputy President William Ruto has arrived in Kibra to intensify campaigns for Jubilee candidate Macdonald Mariga.
On Sunday, Ruto attended a church service at Africa Brotherhood Church in Kibra, Laini Saba where he took the opportunity to popularise Mariga’s candidature.
After the service, Ruto in the company of other Jubilee leaders and supporters, took a walk through Kibra streets as he campaigned for Jubilee candidate, bringing to an end alleged fears that the DP was afraid to snake through Kibra streets because of hostile receptions.
Ruto will later in the afternoon be expected to lead a Mega Jubilee rally which will be held at D.C. Grounds in Kibra constituency.
The rally will be used to finalize the campaign for the jubilee candidate Macdonald Mariga ahead of November 7, 2019, by-election.
This is the second time for Ruto to tour Kibra in a span of one week. Last week on Sunday, Ruto led a Mega Jubilee rally at Lindi grounds in Kibra.
Ruto urged the voters to listen to politicians who are selling policies and keep away from those urging violence.
“Those urging violence should stop and instead sell policies. Kibra will be changed by development and not insults or violence,” stated Ruto on Sunday.
He promised the residents that he will work with Mariga to establish a Technical and Vocational Training College (TVET) in Kibra among may other developments.
In a veiled attack on ODM leader Raila Odinga, Ruto, who was speaking on Saturday in Salgaa Baringo county said he was planning to use Kibra by-election to completely send ODM party leader Raila Odinga to permanent political retirement.
