After the ODM and Jubilee parties held mega rallies at Woodley and DC grounds in Kibra respectively, Amani National Congress candidate Eliud Owalo has clapped back with a major announcement.
The ANC candidate has declared a final public rally at DC ground, Kibra on Monday 11 a.m. in his quest to solidify his support base as campaigns near the home stretch.
ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi is expected to lead his brigade in drumming up support for Owalo ahead of the by-election set for Thursday, November 7.
The campaigns for the Kibra election is expected to come to an end on Tuesday to pave way for the polls.
The announcement comes on the day when the ODM and Jubilee parties held grand rallies for their respective candidates.
ODM leader Raila Odinga led his brigade and a host of leaders from across the political divide in wooing their supporters to vote in the ODM candidate Bernard Imran Okoth at Woodley ground, Kibra.
Also, Jubilee Governor Anne Waiguru joined her Machakos, Kitui and Makueni counterparts, Alfred Mutua, Charity Ngilu and Kivutha Kibwana respectively, in endorsing the ODM candidate.
The leaders said Imran represented the Handshake team and urged the Kibra residents to vote him in to ensure Raila- Uhuru deal is strengthened.
Deputy President William Ruto was in the company of a host of Jubilee leaders in campaigning for their candidate McDonald Mariga at DC ground, Kibra.
The DP assured residents that the government was well prepared to contain any skirmishes that will threaten peace and tranquillity of the region.
More than 20 candidates were cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) to contest for the seat.
The seat fell vacant after the death of Ken Okoth who succumbed to colorectal cancer in July.
