We all know banana to be a fruit with a delicious taste but Nairobi ladies have unearthed a new secret.

Banana has lots of essential nutrients like potassium, vitamins and fibre that have been known to be helpful to the human body more so to the skin.

It’s no secret that bananas are healthy, interestingly, Nairobi ladies are now using the peels as a remedy of lightenng their skin.

Bananas are fibre rich fruits with a number of health benefits. They have fructose, glucose, sucrose, fibre and contain a bit more calories than other fruits, vitamins and minerals.

This fruit is a great exfoliator which helps remove excess sebum on the skin’s surface. It also contains moisture, potassium, and vitamins E and C, which all promote clear glowing skin.

So how does one use banana for skin lightening? Check out the procedure below:

  • Pick and peel your banana.
  • Peel it from top to bottom, slowly to give the peel the best shape possible.
  • Eat the banana since contains vitamin A, B, E.
  • Use a part of the banana to your lips it works as a serum which reduces the appearance of wrinkles.
  • Banana makes skin less puffy, soothers irritated skin from acne, reduces scarring and under-eye circles.
  • Take one peel and cut it at the stem.
  • Cut into a square piece and rub in a circular motion for a minute.
  • Cut some more peels into rectangular form and place below your eyes to reduce puffiness and eye bags.
  • Take another peel and smoothen in upwards motion it helps in tightening the skin and leave it for 30 minutes.
  • After the 30 minutes rinse your face with warm water and wipe off with a towel any extra banana residue.

The procedure above tightens the pores giving a glowing skin, the more you do it, the more it works.

Other than lightening the skin, bananas are known to have natural enzymes which can help eliminate any foreign bodies on your skin. All you need do is press the banana peels onto the splinter.
