Imran Okoth Unveils His Manifesto After Ridicules from the Jubilee Brigade

ODM’s Imran Okoth has finally revealed the contents of his manifesto as the race for the Kibra MP seat hots up. Okoth’s manifsto which was shared on the official social media handles of the ODM Party comes after days of attacks from a number of Jubilee followers and Politicians who claimed that he together with the opposition party had no agenda for the people of Kibra.

Some members of the Jubilee brigade claimed that Imran was just riding on his late brother’s fame and development record but he (Imran) had no vision for Kibra residents.

In his Manifesto, Imran has promised to focus on the youth, women and people living with disabilities. The aspiring parliamentarian will train the trio on financial literacy, personal branding and soft skills.

He has promised to Provide Employment by: Facilitating linkages with Employers through Kibra Jobs Online, Ensuring fair distribution of Uwezo fund to Youth, women and People living with disabilities and Holding quarterly trade fairs to facilitate accreditation of trained artisans.

Just like his late brother Ken Okoth, Imran has also prioritized Education in Kibra.

First in his agenda will be to complete the construction of Kibra secondary school, a project that was so dear to the late Ken Okoth.

The former CDF manager has also promised to renovate more public primary schools to ensure they are learner friendly.

Imran will build ablution blocks in schools with bulging populations and enhance access to technical tarining programmes through bursaries.

He has also promised equitable distribution of National Government and CDF bursary funds and scholarships.

The people of Kibra will now scrutinize Imran’s Manifesto and compare it with that of his opponents led by Macdonald Mariga of Jubilee and Eliud Owalo of ANC.

A Supremacy battle was witnessed in Kibra on Saturday as different candidates painted the area with their Party colours as they sold out their agenda to the voter. Some candidates like Eliud Owalo however, found the going rough as his convoy and that of his party leader Musalia Mudavadi was pelted with stones.

Meanwhile, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has confirmed that a total of 118,658 registered voters are expected to take part in the Kibra by-elections.

In a gazette notice dated October 25, IEBC revealed that Kibra has got 5 wards with the Sarangombe Ward having the highest number of voters at 30,754. Lindi Ward has the least number of Voters at 16,688.
