Manchester United fans are on cloud nine after their side beat Norwich City 3-1 on Sunday, but seems they still have a second thought for Marcus Rashford despite being one of the scorers in the match.
Scott McTominay, Anthony Martial and the 21-year old Rashford were on target for Man United’s deserved win at Carrow Road pushing the Red Devils seven places up to position seven on the Premier League table.
Barely a day later, the club posted an update on their social media page with praise on Rashord, and fans literary pounced on the post with a bit of concern. The majority suggested the forward still needs to work harder in search of a complete form.
Jayman Xlrz said: “Rashford without martial is nothing. Since martial is back from injury, united found their form again.
“Glad for him and I hope Rashford continues to improve to fulfil his potential. Currently, he doesn’t seem confident whenever he is playing,” Edmund Koh posted.
ThankGod Hyacinth Gbagbeke said, “Star rising. But there is room for improvement. The header is poor…free kick low.”
Another fan posted, “Prove he can do well if he is not alone in front, two main strikers is not enough, we need more in case of injuries.”
One fan in Stanley Bentu, however, thinks Rashford is on the right track, and that people should not pile more pressure on him.
“Well done to Rashy even though the media, pundits and some fans pile so much pressure on him…sometimes unfairly lumping the general slump of the team on his shoulders.
“According to the statesman, comparing Rash with Ronaldo (who went on to be the greatest footballer in the world) at this point of their careers, the 21-year-old Rashford has played a total of 171 matches till now in his career and has 50 goals to his name.
“29 of these have come in the Premier League alone, six came in the FA Cup while three came in EFL Cup and nine in other European leagues like the Champions League and the Europa League,” he explained.
