Video: Kibra Crowd Goes Wild as Ruto Lands to Campaign for Mariga

Just hours after ODM party leader Raila Odinga left Kibra after campaigning for the party’s candidate Imran Okoth, Deputy President William Ruto has landed at the constituency to join other Jubilee leaders in campaigning for the party’s candidate Macdonald Mariga.

Ruto, who had spend the better part of his day at Ichuga Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) at Kiawarigi trading centre in Mathira Constituency, Nyeri County, for a church service made an impromptu arrival at Lindi Ward in Kibra shortly before five o’clock in the evening.

While addressing the campaign rally, Ruto communicated that once the constituency votes Mariga in, they will ensure that the constituency ceases being a hotbed of violence as they will transform it through infrastructure, water and connection to electricity.

“Kibra will never remain a hotbed of violence, a slum, a place synonymous with poverty. We will never be lied to again,” remarked Ruto as he campaigned for Jubilee Party and its candidate McDonald Mariga.

“We have water, electricity and infrastructure problems in Kibra and it’s only Mariga who will change this while working with President Uhuru Kenyatta.”

He also stated that they will start working on all stalled projects immediately after the elections on November 8. “We will work with all hustlers to change the face of Kibra,” he added

Ruto also took the opportunity to warn their rivals against using violence to campaign in the region which he said was pulling down the constituency’s developments.
