3 Missing School Girls Arrested at a Kericho Lodging

After two weeks of agony, the parents of three high school girls who were reported missing from school can breath a sigh of relief following their arrest at a Kericho lodging.

The girls, form three students of Shunem High School in Nakuru, were arrested alongside a 25 year old man after police officers traced them to the house allegedly owned by one Doreen Cherop.

Their male companion has been identified as Bernard Muiruri.

The girls spent the better part of Thursday being grilled by police officers at the DCI offices in Kericho, as their parents and authorities sought to find out how they managed to sneak out of school.

The incident has raised concerns over the rising cases of indiscipline amongst female high school students especially now that schools are about to close for the long December holiday.

In September, a teacher was arrested following a public tip off that he was spotted in the company of his 17 year old student at a lodging at Transmara, Narok County.

In June, yet another high school girl was busted with a man at a Kitengela lodging. The man claimed that the girl had consented to his sexual advancements and had requested him to meet her at the lodging.

Meanwhile, two teacher in Murang’a were on Tuesday arrested for defiling a student on the same day.

According to police reports, the victim was first defiled by the deputy principal at Ndutumi Secondary School and when she went to report the case to her class teacher, he raped her as well.

The victim said that the Deputy Principal had asked her to remain at school while other students went home.
