Matters have worsened for Kenyan middle-distance runner Asbel Kiprop after his wife did the unthinkable on Social media.
Barely a year after the 1500 metres world guru, was caught up in a sex scandal with another woman, and after IAAF, ripped him off his titles and medals, his wife Sammary Cherotich has announced a new lover-basically marking the end of their marriage.
Before this, last year, Cherotich tried to defend Kiprop, but it seems things never worked out.
“Asbel is depressed as we speak and needs urgent counselling. Kenyans should stand with him the same way they celebrated his wins. I am not defending him because he is my husband but because I know he is a talented athlete,” Cherotich said in 2018.
At that time, Kiprop was accused of doping and reaped off all his results and titles acquired in races between November 2017 and February 2018.
He had been banned for four years after testing positive to Erythropoietin (EPO) in an out of competition test.
He is the 2008 Summer Olympics gold, and three World Championship titles for events won in 2011, 2013 and 2015.
Cherotich has now taken to Facebook and announced to all that she is now engaged to one Kelvin Busienei.
