Detectives Impound Over Ksh102 Million in Fake Euros

Detectives have impounded over Ksh102 million in fake Euros at a house in Githurai Kimbo, Kiambu County.

The office Directorate of Criminal Investigation said its detectives based at Ruiru led the operation.

“Thorough search in the house occupied by the three ladies led the detectives to a suspicious strongly locked Safe Box. They managed to unlock it later & found the over 880,090 fake euros in 100 denominations”

Three suspects: Rose Wambui, Mary Muthoni and Tabitha Muhuha were arrested and are assisting in further investigations.

Detectives have intensified the crackdown on fake currencies and gold in the country.

Last month, detectives arrested seized fake 1 million U.S. dollars (Over Ksh 100 million) and 147 gold bars in Kilimani, Nairobi.

The fake cash and gold were hidden in a safe at Plan 254 Club.
