Murkomen Responds to Critics Over Kimwarer, Arror Videos

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has said he will not stop criticising the government until ‘his people’ get their fair share of development.

Murkomen was responding to comments by Kenyans on Twitter who criticised him after he posted videos of Kimwarer and Arror Rivers which had burst their banks on his social media accounts.

“I see lots of KOT comments about Arror and Kimwarer projects. For the record I will stay the course until our people get their fair share of development” Murkomen said adding that “our country should not be paying billions for breach of contract and get nothing”.

Murkomen added: “For the record, no money was stolen, that’s cheap propaganda”

President Uhuru Kenyatta in September received a report on the Kimwarer and Arror Dam Project.

Uhuru discontinued the Ksh22.2 Kimwarer Dam project after the technical committee found it to be overpriced as well as technically and financially unviable.

The team found the Arror Multipurpose Dam Project to be overpriced and recommended that its cost be reduced from Ksh28.3 billion to Ksh15.4b.

The President ordered that the construction of the Arror Dam project proceed but with a lower budget.
