Man United Set to Swoop For Leicester City Star

Manchester United have been linked with a January swoop for Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison.

United have started the 2019/20 season poorly and currently sit 14th in the English Premier League table with 10 points from nine rounds of league matches and sit just two points above the relegation zone.

The Old Trafford based side is exacted to beef up its squad in January with the attack and midfield areas said to be of priority to the club.

Reports in English media are now linking City’s Maddison with a move to United. The Red Devils were heavily linked with the attacking midfielder in the summer but a move failed to materialize and the player remained at the King Power.

After some good performances for the Foxes this campaign, United have once again revived their interest in the former Norwich City FC man as they look to add some creativity in their attack as they look to revive their dwindling fortunes

The player will however not come cheaply as United may have to part with over the 80 million pounds that they paid the Foxes last summer to acquire the services of England defender Harry Maguire.

“He [Maddison] fits the profile of player that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for as he tries to rebuild an ailing squad, while the personal relationship between executives Ed Woodward and his opposite number Susan Whelan might encourage United if this becomes a formal pursuit. Some I have spoken to with links to all three parties feel the 22-year-old will move to Old Trafford within the next year,” English Journalist revealed David Ornstein.

United have also been linked with wantaway Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen who could be a cheaper option as his contract with the North London club expires at the end of the season and the Danish international has turned down a new contract offer.
