Single mothers are not all dramatic and chaotic. However, not many people get to see their beautiful side as a result of the tainted perception about them.
There is a notion that most of them are bitter people and have an aspect of toxic feminism.
The problem is that people are just judgmental and are likely to come up with conclusions even before getting to know the concerned party.
Once you interact with them, you will realize that some of these weird things you hear about single mothers are just based on a few cases and do not qualify to be used against them.
They are just normal people who might have gone through hurtful experiences or simply decided to part ways with their partners for expected/acceptable reasons.
Here are some of the weird stereotypes
1. They’re irresponsible and “too dumb to keep their legs closed
In fact, most of them have proven to be responsible by raising their kids single-handedly and managing to give them the best.
2. They’re not worthy of love
There is a good number of single moms who found love again and blossomed in it. Some even end up getting married.
3. They can’t keep a man around
Just because they left or were abandoned in their previous relationship does not mean they cannot do better.
4. They keep having babies with different men to get welfare benefits
Although some women might be capable of doing this, it is such a great risk since not all men own up to offering financial support.
Any single mother who understands how much of a risk it is would never really do it since it will only put her on more burden and frustration.
5. They made bad choices, and now are stuck with the “consequences.”
Just because their relationship did not turn out perfect does not mean it was a result of bad choices.
