The burial ceremony for the victims will take place on Saturday.

Meanwhile, President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday fired all the members of the Kenya Ferry Services board.

They include Dan Mwazo (Chairman) and members Philip Ndolo, Daula Omar, Rosina Nasigha, Naima Amir and  Mruttu through a gazette notice.

A multiagency team lead by the Kenya Navy with the support of private divers managed to retrieve the bodies and the car 13 days after the incident occurred.

In a message to the family of the victims last week, President Kenyatta said he regretted the unfortunate incident adding efforts were being put in place to avoid such occurrences in future.

Kenyans had expressed discontent with the management of the Kenya Ferry Services and government handling of the rescue operations.
