The Orange Democratic Party, ODM has retained the Abakaile Ward seat following by-elections that were held in the area on Thursday, October 17.
Abakaile Ward is in Daadab Constituency of Garissa County.
Confirming their victory, ODM’s director of Elections Junet Mohammed congratulated Hon. Mohamed Ali Sheikh for retaining his seat.
The number of votes garnered by Hon. Mohamed is however not clear as IEBC or the ODM Party is yet to give the exact figures.

Fafi MP Hon. Ali has also congratulated Hon. Mohamed following his win.

Hon Mohamed Sheikh Ali of cast his vote in the morning at Kumahumato primary school.
Mohamed Ali’s previous win was nullified after runner-up Abdiwahab Sheikh challenged it in court. He was declared winner with 1,826 votes against 1,799 for Abdiwahab of ANC.
IEBC has at the same time confirmed that it will announce the official results of all the by-elections held on Thursday after consolidating the results on all Form 36As into Form 36B. The winner will then be declared and issued with a certificate.
