In August 2019, Akothee launched her humanitarian organization ‘Akothee Foundation’ in Turkana County.
This was after months of fundraising to feed the hungry in Turkana.
Speaking on what inspired the launch, Akothee disclosed that she had a strong urge to give back to the less fortunate given that she was one of them at some point in her life and now she has excess.
“Akothee Foundation was a way of giving back to those that are less fortunate. I have a strong desire to give back…Niko nazo mbona mtu asibenefit?” she said on Mambo Mseto.
Although it was launched recently, the foundation is already celebrating major milestones like bringing in people of influence and companies on board and they also have a feeding program already in place.
To boost her foundation, Akothee will also be partnering up with the Papa Remo Beach Hotel owner and has even been invited to Israel by their Ambassador to Kenya.
Israel is famed for its bustling agriculture industry in a country that is not exactly conducive for agriculture as most of the area is arid and her visit is expected to show her the possibility that Turkana can feed Kenya though better agricultural methods.

Amenialika huko nitakuwa naenda kuitemebela ili niweze kuona that we can turn a desert into a manufacturing industry.Alisema yeye mwenyewe kuwa Turkana ndio italisha Kenya nzima. Alisema inawezekana. Pia Italian ambassador alikuwa kwenye launch na tutapanaga venye atakuja on board kusaidia,” she disclosed.
