Human Activist Boniface Mwangi bashed President Uhuru Kenyatta over his retirement remarks in 2022.

Boniface who is a staunch critic of Uhuru, did not hold back on his feelings towards the remarks made by the President.

Through a tweet, the vocal activist remarked that the decision by the Head of State was not something of importance to Kenyans.

He asserted that Uhuru wasn’t doing the country a favor by making an exit during the slated election year.

“He doesn’t have an option neither is he doing us a favour by going home.” stated Boniface.

The ridicule by the photographer came hours after the announcement by the son of the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta during the launch of the second phase of the SGR.

Uhuru set the record straight by disregarding rumours that he was planning to seek a third term in office come 2022.

The fourth president of the nation reiterated that the BBI project was not a way to create a position for him.

“The main purpose of the BBI is to avoid future violence during elections.”

“Please, don’t fall for the lies being aired around.” noted the president.

The report from the team incharge is set to present the document to Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga during the Mashujaa celebrations in Mombasa County.

According to Raila, the country needs to adopt a parliamentary system that is less divisive.

A section of leaders however have called for Uhuru to stay in power.

COTU boss Francis Atwoli claimed that the Jubilee party leader was too young to retire.

Raila’s push has been opposed by Deputy President William Ruto who argued that the country is not ready for such a change.

Ruto in the past pointed out that time is required in order to hold a successful referendum on the matter.
