Preparations are in top gear for the first ever crying party to be organized in Kenya.

The event that is set to bring together people from various walks of life is a first of its kind to ever happen in Kenya and is expected to be sold out once the dates are confirmed.

Organizers of the unique party are currently holed up in intensive talks to determine the appropriate venue for the concert that would provide both the atmosphere and convenience for the attendees.

The concert will be put together by itasabilitydisabilitycentre.co.ke which is a not-for-profit organization that advocates for people living with various forms of special need.

ItsAbilityDisability (ITSAD) prides itself in having incorporated disability agenda into national discussions.

The organization takes a keen interest in people with behavioural disorders and those suffering depression that results from the vagaries of life’s daily struggles.

It is for this purpose that a plan was hatched to bring together Kenyans from different parts of the country to share their frustrations.

Studies indicate that 10.8 per cent of Kenyans have a mental disorder at one point in their lives, while the Government only channels a paltry 0.01 per cent of their budget to remedy this condition.

According to World Health Organization (WHO), suicide is the second-leading cause of death of youth between ages 15 and 29.

According to the Psychiatric Disability Organization of Kenya founder Mr Iregi Mwenja, there are only 62 Government psychiatrists, making the chances of accessing treatment minimal for all the 45 million Kenyans.
