Boni Khalwale’s 1st Wife Adelaide Burial Photos

On the great Saturday for Kenyans 12th October following Eliud Kipchoge’s historical track win, political aspirant and close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, Boni Khalwale laid his lovely late wife Adelaide Shikanga to rest.

On Thursday 4, Adelaide who was first diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2003 developed pulmonary hypertension and after two days of medication, she stopped breathing.

The two had been married for a beautiful 39 years. Dr Khalwale, who served as Ikolomani MP from 2002 to 2013 before he was elected as Kakamega senator attributed his source of success to Ms Adelaide Shikanga.

At the Mukumu Mission Hospital mortuary he said: “Together, we have built from scratch to where we are today. We have built our family, our education and our wealth.”

They have been blessed with two sons and one daughter.

Khalwale also spoke shortly after the demise of Adelaide at his Malinya home in Kakamega county on Saturday, October 5, however he did not delve into the details of burial programs but indicated it will be a brief exercise.

He thanked doctors from Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) and Aga Khan for standing by him and offering professional medical services throughout his wife’s ailment. He also extended his gratitude to Masinde Muliro University (MMUST) where Adelaide worked.

Addressing mourners during the requiem mass of Adelaide Khalwale on Thursday, Ruto said he will miss the burial of the wife of his close friend and passed his apologies.

He said he will be in Austria on official duty to represent the country, following an agreement with his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta.
