Kenyan artist Nyashinski has revealed why he dedicated the song dubbed Marathon Runner to Kipchoge.
Nyashinski spoke about this song as he cheered the celebrated long-distance runner ahead of his Ineos challenge.
The artist mentioned that the song was inspired by Kipchoge’s greatness in his running career.
Through Kipchoge’s achievements, he wanted Kenyans to stop being basic and focus on the potential that we have as a country.
According to Nyashinski, the ‘marathon runner’ hit was to encourage Kenyans to be proud of themselves.
“ I wrote that song for the sake of Kenyan pride. I wanted people to feel proud of their country. Proud of themselves.
“I wanted people not to give up. I wanted people to keep going and I wanted to inspire people to be great,” he stated
Nyashinski also mentioned that he thanks God for Kipchoge and wished him the best ahead of the race.
The singer also urged Kenyans to rally behind the marathon hero and cheer him on as he makes history against time.
The Olympic champion Kipchoge will take up the challenge this Saturday and he is confident that he will break the two-hour marathon barrier.
