Kenyan Premier League (KPL) have announced a new date for this season’s first match pitting arch-rivals Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards known as Mashemeji derby.

The league managers have, on Friday October 11, released an amended fixture for clubs and matches including that of the Shemejis.

The Derby was initially set for November 9 but has now moved backward by one day pinning the battle on November 10.

The other change touches Sofapaka, who have moved all their home matches to Fridays.

“Sofapaka FC have moved their home matches from Fridays to Sundays. Their home ground remains Narok County Stadium. This fixture may be amended again on November 4 after the CAF CC play-off matches.

“Gor Mahia FC vs AFC Leopards SC will now be played on November 10. Its date has changed from November 09,” KPL’s statement read in parts.

KPL say the amendments have been necessitated following the CAF Confederations Cup play-off draw.

Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards are currently placed on the first and second positions on the Kenyan Premier League table. K’Ogalo have 12 points from four matches while Ingwe have 10 from five matches.
