Mobile service provider Safaricom will change its MPESA logo for the next five days as they rally behind Kenyan athlete Eliud Kipchoge who is attempting to make history in marathon running. MPESA is an electronic way of sending and receiving money through your mobile phone both locally and internationally.
In a challenge dubbed as the Ineos 1.59 Challenge, Eliud Kipchoge who is the world record holder in the men’ Marathon with a time of 2 hours 1 minute and 39 seconds will attempt to be the first man to run the distance in under 2 hours.
Safaricom will change its MPESA logo for the next five days as a show of support for the celebrated Kenyan athlete. The company will also provide free youtube on the day of the event so all Kenyans can easily witness the historic occasion.
Kipchoge is Safaricom’s MPEA ambassador.

Eliud is already in Austria which is the venue of the race while the date and time will be officially communicated on Wednesday.
