United have struggled in the league this term and have amassed a paltry nine points in eight league matches. Next for the Old Trafford based club is a match against arch-rivals Liverpool and many argue that a loss against the Reds will mark the end of Solkjaer reign as was the case with his predecessor Jose Mourinho.

Solskjaer started his United on a high last December when he was named interim coach. Things started going south a few months later and United missed out on champions league football. The club’s away form has been woeful as particularly this season where the Red Devils have managed to pick just two points on the road.

Reports from Germany now indicate that 32-year old Nagelsmann could be the man to replace Solskjaer. The tactician took over at the club in June and his side has started the league fairly well.  In seven league outings, Die Roten Bullen have registered four wins, two draws, and one defeat and currently sit fifth in the log with 4 points.

Nicknamed Baby Mourinho, Nagelsmann was forced into coaching early due to knee injuries that ended his career at 21. During the 2015-16 season, he took over as Hoffenheim head coach at the time the team was battling relegation and managed to help them retain their top-flight status.  The following season he helped the team qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history.
