There is nothing as bad as having to deal with a chilly Monday morning. But it is the situation on the ground and we have to deal with it.

It is eight days since Mariam Kighenda and her daughter Amanda Mutheu plunged into the Indian Ocean. Their bodies have not been recovered and there is no sign that they will be recovered anytime soon.

The tragedy has become fodder for politicians. On Saturday, ODM leader Raila Odinga raised eyebrows when he ordered the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) to stop the dredging exercise in the ocean.

Does Raila have the powers to give orders to government employees?

Will Likoni Tragedy Victims Ever Be Found?

Efforts to recover the bodies of Mariam Kighenda and her daughter Amanda Mutheu who drowned at the Likoni channel last Sunday entered the eighth day yesterday.

State agencies involved in the operation have been on the spot, even as the affected family continues to hold onto hope, with no indication that the bodies will be located in the ocean.

Kenya Shines at World Athletic Championships

Kenya has finished second in the medal standings at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.

The country finished the Championships with a total of 11 medals, 5 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze on Sunday.

The relationship between nominated MP Maina Kamanda and Deputy President William Ruto has continued to attract negative publicity following the decision by the Jubilee Party to field a candidate in the Kibra by-election. Over the Weekend Kamanda castigated the DP accusing him of fueling inter-community war in Kibra claiming the DP was weakening the handshake.
