‘Raila Can’t Be President Without Luhya Votes’- Manyora Warns Sifuna and Muluka

Nasa leader Raila Odinga and his co-principal Musalia Mudavadi.

Political Analyst, Herman Manyora, has fired another shot yet again to the Secretary Generals (SG) of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Edwin Sifuna and his counterpart of Amani National Congress(ANC)  party Barack Muluka over their bitter exchanges regarding their party leaders.

“The worst mistake that Mudavadi would make is to insult Raila Odinga. Insulting Raila Odinga will diminish any chances he had of becoming anything. Equally Sifuna You don’t gain anything by talking ill of Mudavadi,” said Manyora.

Manyora, who took to his YouTube channel on Saturday to talk about the recent war of words between the two parties, reminded the two SGs that the political future of their party leaders is symbiotic to themselves.

The University of Nairobi don claimed that if the ODM leader Raila Odinga wants to be president come 2022, then he would desperately need the Luhya votes.

On the other hand, the political affairs analyst believe that ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi will be dier need of Raila’s endorsement if indeed he wants to be the president too.

He urged the two leaders to shun petty politics saying it will serve them no good.

” Of the two secretary generals, Sifuna for ODM and Barack Muluka or ANC. Honestly, that kind of politics does not help anybody.

My free advise to the secretary generals is that it serves no good. If Raila is to become the President, he needs the Luhya votes, there is no way Mudavadi can be the president without the Luo votes,” advised Manyora.

On Tuesday, Mudavadi told a gathering of Kenyans in the diaspora that the Handshake was born out of a threat by Western Countries to cancel visas of some leaders less they buried the hatchet.

On Thursday, Sifuna convened a press conference with some MPs and rubbished the allegations.

“Mudavadi is lying. The pressure from the diplomatic corps was applied to try and stop the swearing-in of the People’s President.

It is, in fact, the reason “internationally renowned” diplomats/former foreign ministers failed to show up at Uhuru Park. They bowed to foreign pressure,” said Sifuna.

In a rejoinder, Muluka clapped back in support of their party leader and said they will not be drawn into verbal fights with ODM.

“We instead stand firmly with our Party Leader, Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, EGH. We reaffirm the veracity of his words on the so-called “swearing-in” of Raila Odinga and the handshake,” read the statement in part from ANC.
