Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has unmasked alleged DP Ruto’s sycophant who claimed that the city boss did not fulfil his promises towards the families 8 pupils who lost their lives at Precious Talent Academy tragedy.

In a video uploaded by the governor in his social media accounts, speakers who were video recorded, including the parents of the late kids, morgue management, and the contracted hearse company, confirmed that the governor had kept his word.

According to Nominated MCA Nancy Muthami, evidence in their possession confirms that the governor had condoled with family appropriately and also facilitated the final send-off of their kins.

“I want to categorically say this, we have evidence of Ksh100,000 that was given to the families. W e have evidence that every parent received that Ksh100,000 because they confirmed including the parents.

Mr Njeru was the first one to confirm. The governor gave tents and even the toilets that were being used,” said the MCA.

On Wednesday, Governor Sonko promised to take action against his officers whom he mandated with the responsibility of ensuring that the victims were given a decent send-off.

“I normally don’t give false promises in my leadership. I swear by the name of the almighty God if this speaker in the attached video is talking the truth and not politics played by the area Mp then I can see more staff going home,” said the Governor.

The Governor went ahead and said that his office had confirmed to hi that the families had received each Ksh100,00 in their bank accounts and also donated coffins for the funeral arrangements.

The outrage by the Governor came after a speaker, during the burial of one of the deceased, Germine City, claimed that they only received donations from the Deputy President William Ruto and the teachers union, KUPPET.

“William Samoei Ruto gave us Ksh800,000 which we shared each Ksh100,000. Those from Kuppet we received Ksh400,000 which we shared Ksh50,000 each. So from all pledges, we only received Ksh155,000,” he said.

The speaker, captured in a video recording, claimed that leaders who had pledged heir contributions did not fulfil their promises but left the families struggling in the final send-off of their kins.

The same speaker faulted the government and Governor Sonko for failing to keep their promise despite having pledged to do so.

“There is no single politician who has visited the affected families in their houses. But I want to report this when I was with Njeru the Deputy President Ruto called and conveyed his condolences…

This family has not received any cash from the government. I won’t state here that the government has not catered for anything. Sonko Rescue Team promised us a hearse and a bus but they only gave us a hearse. They promised to foot mortuary charges, they did not,” he said.

Sonko rescue team has, however, dismissed the remarks as political and further recorded testimonies of the stakeholders to rubbish the claims.

Here is video footage of the remarks by both sides:
