KPL Changes Kick Off Time, Venue of Two Crucial Matches

The much anticipated Kenya Premier League tie between Sony Sugar and AFC Leopards has been rescheduled.

According to a statement, seen by Opera Sports, by the official Kenya Premier League (KPL), the sugar belt region is experiencing heavy rainfall in the afternoon hours thus the changes in kick off time.

However the date remains the same with the kick off time which was  planned for 3pm on Saturday, October 5, being moved to 1pm same day.

Sony sugar will play host to Leopards at the 5,000 capacity Awendo stadium in Migori County.

The host will look to bounce back from two consecutive defeats from Bandari and a 3-1 loss in the hands of 6th place Ulinzi stars. In just 4 KPL matches, Sony Sugar has only managed to collect 3 points which came from a win against their fellow sugar millers Nzoia.

AFC Leopards will be looking confident in the enemy’s territory after securing a 4-0 rampage on Chemilil  Sugar to seat at the third position in the Kenya Premier League table with 7 points.

It is not only Sony Sugar vs AFC Leopards match that has been rescheduled, another KPL fixture between Western Stima vs Ulinzi stars  has been forced to change kick off time due to unavailability of Moi stadium Kisumu. However the KPL has not come out to give reasons for this change.

It will be an action packed weekend in the KPL fixture as several teams go in search for three points.

Saturday will have a total of six matches; Posta Rangers vs Kisumu All Stars, Chemilil vs Kariobangi Sharks, Mathare United vs Wazito Fc, Western Stima vs Ulinzi Stars, KCB vs Nzoia and Sony Sugar vs AFC Leopards.

Sunday will see defending champions Gor Mahia host Zoo Kericho at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru. Other matches to be played on sunday include Sofapaka vs Bandari and Homboyz vs Bandari.
