9 Challenges Every Kenyan Woman Goes Through

In the 21st century, there are some things that only Kenyan girls and women can understand. There are some things that make being a girl a pain in the … eeeh well, uterus. These are the challenges Kenyan mamaz go through each and every day:

1.Walking to the Bathroom with a Tampon Hidden Under Your Armpit :

This is actually the worst…so nobody knows you’re on your period…You imagine the stares and you clench your elbow to your shoulder hoping no one has seen especially that male colleague who sits across you.

2.Can’t Leave the House Without a Bag:

Kenyan women always plan to leave the house with just a wallet, maybe lipgloss and wet wipes but later find themselves carrying almost the whole house..Yaani..no girl knows when to stop packing stuff in the bag. It also happens that when you’re trying to find your keys and something “embarrassing” falls out of your purse.

3.Having Pants Without Pockets

Most of these pants sold in the Nairobi streets don’t have pockets. (They mostly have decoration) and becomes quite difficult carrying a few necessities like the phone and bus fare.

4.When You Don’t wear Makeup

It’s become a norm for the Kenyan women to at least apply a little bit of makeup and if not a Ka lip gloss to keep off those dry lips. When she doesn’t, it becomes one hell of a day. Some of the girls look sick without any..their faces look weird!!!

5.Having to take off your make up after a long a** day:

This is another activity that is not an easy thing as one would assume. It takes a lot of work and precision.

6.Bathroom lines:

Men you have no idea how lucky you are!!! Nothing sucks like queuing in a bathroom. This happens mostly in clubs and sometimes they find themselves running to the gents.

7. Contemplating on whether to wear white outfits when on your period.

8. Having outfits for different themed baby shower in town.

9. Shopping for shoes especially heels and you are not even sure you can walk in them.
